I was wondering why my whites treefrog periodically sleeps on the substrate of his cage. He does this 1-2 times a week. They're arboreal, why would he be at the bottom of the tank? Does this mean anything?
It tends to be more humid down by the substrate, maybe your humidity/temp levels are not adequate.
I agree with Kristy. Anytime my White's have done this, it's been a humidity issue.
I also agree. Mine like to hang out on the leaf tops at the top of the tank. Every now and again 1 out of 4... and the same 1 will bury himself for the night with his head out of the peat. I then water the tank a bit and hes up and running.
Thanks guys, yea i noticed my humidity was a lil low ~50%. I like to keep it around 60-65%. I think my temps are fine (~82-84) Gave him a spritz and he crawled immediately up to the top.
The only one I have that stays at the bottom of the tank is bindy-boo cos she has bad mbd so can't climb but the other 6 are always up top. Glad you sorted the problem out hunny
