This tadpole's left front leg won't come out! Has anyone ever seen this before?! I know there is probably nothing I can do, but could it fix itself?! This is so weird! I hope it doesn't hurt.

Wow that picture got really pixilated after I uploaded it. Hopefully y'all can still properly see what I'm talking about.
my second tad did that too. i kind of took out a lot of the water, gave him only enough to stay wet, and he was able to keep his nose out if he wanted to. his arm eventually popped out.

That's exactly what I just got done doing for this guy. Glad to hear someone who had the same experience.
Ive had this happen as well with some Pacific chorus frog tads. its
usually not a problem unless it has difficulty swimming.

He does seem to have a little bit of difficulty but I helped him by giving him some small smooth rocks that he can balance on and use to get out of the water if he needs to.
make sure he can get out himself or reduce the water even more.

Yea the layer of rocks I put down should be okay. I made a gradual hill out of the rocks too so he could climb out when he's ready.
So his leg did eventually appear like all of you said. Thanks for the support and advice.
I also first thought he was another green tree frog but now he's definitely looking more like a gray. I have someone at work who wants him too for his little boy so I'm excited to adopt him out to a nice family. :P (That was one reason why I was so alarmed at his leg yesterday because this was my last tadpole and I didn't want to accidentally promise my friend a frog that would have had issues.)
oh good. make sure to remove most of the water now. he should be able to climb the walls of the enclosure now, or maybe by tomorrow. make sure your friend does all of the care b/c these guys stay small for a long time, and a little boy is not going to be able to do this stuff by himself. finding very small food, like FF and very small pinheads.

His dad, my coworker, will basically do all of the taking care of the frog. His little boy I think isn't even 2 yet. But my coworker was telling me about how when he and his son go outside at night they see all kinds of frogs and toads in their yard and his little boy loves them. So I thought it was nice to give them this guy. His son can basically grow up having a frog as a pet and I thought that was a really cool thing.![]()
ok cool. i know i am having stress over one of mine not eating well, so i just would be worried if a child was caring for them.

Yea I definitely would've been cautious of that also. I hope yours starts eating better soon.
i think he just ate 2 crickets, so i am pretty happy. unless the crix figured out a way to hide that i missed them, he ate them.
