I have a large colony of dubias for 2 years now. I have alway s heated them in my 65 degree basement with a heat mat. I recently had a tub of them that i did not heat and they were fine. So, is it necessary to heat them or will they live and breed at 65 degrees?
They will not breed at 65F. Also, Dubia breeding activity/roach production will respond inversely to lower temps. So a colony (all other parameters being equal) kept at 95F will produce more than one at 85F; and that one will do better than one at 75F
.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
what is the lowest temp for reproduction, the breed too fast for me anyway...lol
The proper range for breeding is 70-95F it is generally observed that dubia will not breed below 70 degrees and begin to go dormant.

Yeah definitely do not keep them at 65 degrees unless you do not want them to make any more babies lol![]()
