    Default Water conditioner?

I know you should always use water conditioner and I have noticed seachem prime is recommended. But I have some stresscoat + I have been using for my axolotl , would this not be ok for my frog?

I use extra strength water conditioner for my turtles but I buy water conditioner just for my amphibians because they are more sensitive. I always get one with a stresscoat helper and that removes heavy metals etc ( which any good conditioner should do anyway)

I have had fish for years but I know amphibians are even more delicate, but I would think if it keeps my axolotl healthy it would be ok for the frog, for conditioning water to mist, soak substrate and for the water bowl.

I have used Stress Coat for many years without a problem. Make sure you follow label directions carefully as amphibians are quite sensitive. Conditioned water with Stress Coat (or any high quality conditioner) can be used for all your amphibian water needs.

can you really over do it with water conditioner? Within reason of course. stresscoat + and API water conditioner are all i use. Since I have two different needs.

Thanks for the help I just wanted to make sure that if I needed to buy a new conditioner for them I was aware.

very nice thread that might be useful. You can overdo with water conditioner, but if you follow instructions on a bottle, any fish tank conditioners will do. General rule, whatever works for fish will work for frogs

I almost always dose according to the bottle ( if its a really little amount its kind of hard to measure precisely)

Personally I use a better conditioner with phibs than fish because they are even more sensitive.

I use seachem prime. It's very cost effective short of using pure sodium thiosulfate or pond conditioner. The conditioner you use can be over dosed though just not more than 2-3x. I would even recommend overdosing if your municipality has announced that it's flushing the pipes/increasing the chlorine dose due to an algal or bacterial bloom. This is done especially during the summer and spring.
