    Default Is this mold ok?

I tried to search around for what the dreaded grey mold looked like, but wasn't getting much from my searches. I have some of that cotton candy whitish mold I posted earlier on my magnolia leaves which you already said was fine. But today I also started noticing mold on my woods. The main dark piece of wood is I think mopani, purchased from pet store and soaked in treated boiling water. I noticed some white spots on that today that MIGHT be mold, but when I sprayed the tank the wood got dark again and it's hard to see so I will try to get a pic of that when it dries up some again. But perhaps more concerning is the other piece of wood.... the stick-like one that I got from Josh's Frogs which I THINK was Manzanita.... it has what appears to be a darker mold that I might say was green, but then again it could be greyish, since I don't know what grey mold looks like. I tried to get a pic of it but it's hard with my phone. In the last pic I was shining an LED light on it to try to get a better shot. Do you need better pics?

Yeah that mold is ok. Wood will get some mold on it as it acclimates to the wet conditions. Once you add Springs to the tank the mold will all but go away.

Grey mold looks like the white mold but is a dark grey. It just looks mean.

are there any pics floating around on here of the grey stuff? I feel like even what looks like white mold sometimes has a grey tint, as well as this greenish stuff. It's kind of hard to see the mold on that branch... it's on the backside, so without pulling it out to really check it over that's all I can see. Don't be surprised if I end up adding more pics of mold to this thread over the course of the next week or so lol.

The grey mold won't grow on hardwood that has been cleaned for use in a vivarium. It is the product of bad bacteria and usually starts down around the soil and works it's way up the wood.

My wood gets the same little spots on it yours does. It may be an algae and not a mold... I am not sure what it it, but it is natural and not harmful to the frog
