    Default How Many Azures?

I am setting up a 20 Gallon Long horizontal viv for some Azure dart frogs. The ones I am getting are from someone I know who breeds them and right now they are still tadpoles but I need to know how many I can keep in my viv. Here is a link to my thread for the vivarium if that helps at all.

    Thanks in advance!

    Kaiden,

A good rule of thumb is 10G for every frog. 2 should be ok in there, but if you want more you will either need a 2nd 20L or a bigger tank

We have to Azureus right now and are looking to get 3 more in the next month or so. We love them! So bold and active!

Ok sounds good, I will stick with two then. I was thinking that would probably be best because I am going to be getting them as juveniles so I won't be able to tell what sex they are. If I only have 2 I shouldn't have any problems with the females being territorial though, correct?

Females usually arent territorial, they may eat each other eggs. It is the males who end up being an issue. The dominant one will bully the other. If this is observed you should get the weaker male out of the tank ASAP. Things to do to help combat this are providing plenty of line of site breaks in the tank.
