Constant amplexing

Hi, I have 2 ADF in a heated, filtered 3 gallon tank. They have only been together about a week and a half and since then the male constantly grabs her. Every night and I feel bad for her. I have 2 places she can hide. She has laid eggs 3 or 4 times but they are amplexing every night. I am wondering at what point it is too much and should separate or just ignore them? Sometimes it seems she tries to shake him off but he will hold on for hours. Any ideas?
