Thank you!
I got a little bored and decided to take some shots with my macro lense. I got some pictures I thought were pretty cool so I decided I would show them to you guys. I also noticed the container I got my fruit fly start in has a bunch of little fruit fly larvae in it so I decided to keep it and see what happens with it too. There's a close up of one of those little sprouts that grew out of the moss. Any clue what it is?
Kaiden your viv is great, well done! what frogs are going in it? Also really nice close up shots of those plants
Thanks! It is for a pair of Azureus dart frogs.
Really like it and plants are doing very well. How long since you planted moss? If over 4 weeks it's ready for frogs; don't think they will hurt anything in there . By the time your frogs are out of QT the tank should be more then ready for them.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Its been about a month since I planted most of the moss, but I put in a little more like a week ago. The frogs I am getting are from someone who lives by me and breeds them so I am getting them for free, but right now they are still tadpoles, so it is still going to be a little while before I can get them.
Here's what they look like right now...
It's great you can see your future frogs as tadpoles !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Those are some really beautiful pictures, Kaiden! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone! Yeah its cool I got to see them when they were still in their eggs and after they hatched and everything. I think the whole thing is really interesting.
On a side note about the macro shots, I actually took those pictures with my phone. There are lenses you can get that work with the camera on your phone. The ones I have are from a company called Photojojo. I think they are like $20 a piece and they have a macro one, fish eye, zoom, and maybe some others. They are pretty cool little things.
Alright, quick update: everything is going well
The plants are still growing like crazy. Things are just gonna be slow for a while until I get the frogs. My fruit flies seem to be doing what they are supposed to be doing so that's good because that was the main thing I was worried about.
Alright, it's been a while since I updated you guys on this. The tadpoles are taking longer than I thought they were going to, but last I heard they were starting to grow legs. Everything seems to be doing pretty good. Pretty much all the original leaves and stuff on the fern on the right has died off, but the new growth seems fine. Here's a picture of what it looks like right now...
It's grown in quite well! If you'll allow me to suggest so, I still would add more leaf litter. In fact, I don't really see any at all. Otherwise, though, it looks really good

Yeah, I am planning to add some. I've just been waiting until closer to when I'm getting the frogs.
Nice I can't wait to see it grow in

just a side note- although it is probably correct to say female Azureus don't get along, Mine are. I thought i had a male 2 x now, and it turned out i have 3 adult females. There was a scuffle the first day, and just looked like some wrestling/bullying. And on another occasion, same bully was pushing another one around. but usually, they are getting along fine, i have plenty of hides, and they are all eating and out in the open, so none are suffering. In my case, 3 adult female azureus that did not grow up together were placed in the same tank and are doing fine. i would not add a male b/c then there would be a lot of fighting.
Good luck with your tadpoles it seems to take forever for them to get their front legs and lose the tail.

Yeah that's sort of what I've understood from what I've read/heard/whatever. It seems like most of the time females don't have issues with eachother unless there is a male there too. So I figured since I'm getting two, I will either end up with 2 males, 2 females, or one of each. None of those combinations should cause problems. I'm hoping for a male/female pair, but I guess we'll see what happens. I don't really plan to breed them so I guess it doesn't really matter. I kind of hope I don't end up with two females just to be safe though.
if you do, it should be fine as yours will be raised together from babies. I don't want to raise them either, so it worked out good for me.
