my whites still emit water some times when i handle them. does anyone know how long they will do this ? they dont really do this in their terrarium. but once outside they sometimes do.
i dont think that they are under any stress. when they do this i put them back in their home. do you think that they will outgrow this.
is there any thing that i can do to prevent this (not handling them aside) ?
they are probably just not used to getting handled, my chubby frog and pacman frog still do that (i rarely ever handle them) your frogs are probably just nervous and urinating is their defense mechanism. i would say be very gentle when handling and they might get used to it over time.
Many amphibians that are unaccustomed to being handled will do this - they release the fluid contents of the cloaca. This is the animals fluid reserves and after being discharged should be replaced - just put the frog in some water after it does this.
I had had my frogs for a year and a half and one of them sometimes still does this - I DONT want is be disrupted is the message I am being sent.
thanks for all your advice. i think i will give them more time to get used to me.
in the meantime i'll get them some nappies![]()
