Thanks for the reply and warm welcome, Paul!
The crazy thing is, I'm not using anything to heat my tank and the temperature is still extremely high. I keep the tank in my garage for now, which stays about 77 ºF during the day, and drops to high 60's at night. The only window is positioned on the other side of the garage, so I don't think the sun hits it much or even at all.
For the false bottom, I have about a 2" egg crate structure being supported with PVC piping that have notches in them for the water to escape. I then use Hydroballs for filtration, followed by Peat moss + Ecoearth, and ABG mixture. Tropical moss and random spores took over the top layer.
Do you really think 20 secs, 5 times a day is a little too less? I've experimented with 30 secs a few weeks ago, couldn't tell much of a difference (although my reservoir was emptying a lot quicker!)
Thanks,
Roy
