Hi,
I am new to the forum and am looking into getting my first pet frog. I'm still in the research stage and am looking at a few types of frogs. I am really interested in pacman frogs and think that I would enjoy having one. However, I live in an apartment and cannot have a frog that might upset the neighbors. From searching previous posts about pacman calling, it seems like a male pacman call will likely be loud enough for the neighbors to hear and possibly find objectionable. I have looked up pacman frog calls on youtube but am having a difficult time telling exactly how loud they really are from the videos.
For those that have male pacman frogs, am I correct that their call would be loud enough for the neighbors to hear through the walls? Thank you for your help.
I think it also depends on the frog. My pac is very quiet when he calls. He especially calls when the pressure drops or we're being too loud when we talk/laugh. My old bullfrog was incredibly loud though. I would say for my frog a good reference would be conversational volume.
A Pacman calling volume should not be a problem.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I've never even heard my Pacman call.. do they only begin after they reach a certain age? Maybe it's not old enough yet..
