    Default Amphibian Identification?

So I got this little guy (Roughly the size of my thumbnail) from a lake and decided to take care of him. I'm going to put him in fish tank with dirt and a bowl of water (The bowl will be buried so that the rim reaches the dirt) acting as a pool. Currently we have freeze dried blood worms for him but I don't think he's interested in eating those. He's too small to eat live crickets so I'm not sure as to what to feed him besides those worms and he isn't very interested in them. Either way do you guys know if he's a frog or a toad? I think he's a toad from what I've researched but I'm not sure. Do you guys know what kind of amphibian he is so I can know how to treat him. I know about the living conditions they need but I'm more or less stumped on the food and how to treat them or other things they need. It came from Obed Lake, Alberta.
