Default Is a cornuta a good choice?

Hey guys I am looking into getting some type of pacman frog... I would like to get a cornuta but I have read that they can be particularly difficult to care for/feed. I would like to hear firsthand from people that have kept this species successfully what I would need to do to keep them as happy and healthy as possible.

    Thank you,
    Duncan

You would be better off going with another Horned Frog Species.

Yeah, I figured.. I couldn't find any cb's so I will probably go with an ornata

They are a good choice. You will enjoy a ornata very much.

Do you breed horned frogs? Or do you know where I could get one? There aren't any reptile shows near me anytime soon and I would rather not order one online.

I do not breed, but I know people that do. Contact Mike of Mike's Phat Frogs. He is a member here named mikesfrogs.

Alright, thanks. On jelasphatphibs.com they have cb cornutas, do captive bred cornutas make good pets?

Cb are better, but not for beginners, they are very sensitive to their environment and hard to keep long term even for advanced keepers.
Grif is right, get ornata, you sure wont be disappointed. Most of them are very aggressive eaters, healthy and grow the biggest of all pacman frogs commonly obtained. 5" male and 6" female ornata are not unheard of
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

Yeah, I will probably get an ornate. I just think cornutas are really cool but I would rather not one if I am not yet experienced enough to properly care for it. I just wanted to be sure that even a captive bred wouldn't be a good idea

Even CB cornuta are difficult. Try a more well adapted species like Ornata first. Later if you want to try cornuta then do so, but you will want some experience first. If you're set on the looks of a cornuta you could get a Fantasy frog which is a hybrid between C. cranwelli and C. cornuta, but has the mixed appearence of both. They are beautiful and not to difficult to care for.
