Hi there, I own a pacman frog myself but I came here to ask on behalf of my girlfriend's needs; (Primarily concerned over not feeding them for a few days and two of her five FBTs not wanting to eat the mealworms that she had tried to feed today). She crushes the mealworms' heads prior to feeding I believe because of the myth of them eating their way out of their predator(?) and feeds in a smaller pet carrier individually (she's been doing this for 3-4 months now). She does offer a variety in their diet as well (offering gut loaded crickets whenever possible).
What are the main suggestions for healthy nutritional staple diets for FBTs? I want to try to talk her out of feeding mealworms because of the impaction issues and think that she would be better off cutting up bits of nightcrawlers and feeding those to her FBTs. (I was informed in the Pacman Frog Community that Nightcrawlers are an excellent source of calcium+nutrients without excess phosphorus). I keep reading mixed responses about feeding Nightcrawlers for FBTs because "they're too big to feed" but I can only imagine that FBTs can be tong-fed trained just alike their Pacman brothers when the worms are cut into smaller portions.
Thanks for your help guys! I will be monitoring the thread and informing my girlfriend.
