I ordered 1k pinheads from premium crickets, and paid for overnight and still half of them were dead. My frogs are tiny, like pinky fingernail size. I am going to run out of crickets, I need to buy some more. Is there a better website, or a store in my area I haven't found? If anyone knows please let me know.
Also these are just common american toads, I think. I will let them go at a lake or pond. I just want them to be a bit bigger, so they don't get eaten so easy. I found them in a parking lot puddle after heavy rain, about 3 weeks ago. I caught 13 and they were tadpoles. After they grew legs, and absorbed their tails they wouldn't eat for over a week. They didn't like the ants, and other tiny bugs I found. They were starving pretty much. All but 1 is doing better now. I have Divided the smaller ones into other, smaller tanks, so maybe they can eat more easily. I will take very good care and make sure he or she eats and doesn't die. So don't be worried okay. I will put some pictures, you will see the one I am talking about, he or she is really malnourished. I put about 15 little crickets into its new cage with it, hopefully it will be able it eat them. I check on him often and it looks like he can't fit the cricket into his mouth. He does eat soil mites, I am having trouble find more of them.
