Hi! I am a long-time forum lurker, looking for some help with a potential issue with a small White's tree frog. I have had a large White's terrarium with one frog for five years now, and recently decided to purchase another. I picked one up from a recent shipment at Petco, as all looked extremely healthy and lively. I know, Petco, yuck. Upon unboxing the newcomer and placing him in the quarantine tank, I noticed that his clear eyelid seemed to be stuck in one of his eyes. He eats aggressively and acts perfectly normal. It appears to be a birth defect, but I was worried that it could be something stuck in the eye that could later become infected? All of the frogs were on coco fiber substrate so debris could definitely be the problem, but the lid looks almost fused in place and I can't see any dirt or anything beneath the lid. So far it seems to have no ill effects on the frog, but I am airing on the cautious side. Any input would be appreciated! Thank you!

Yeah petco doesn't appear to have a good breeding stock as i do have some birth defects with a few of mine. best bet is to take him to a vet.
Obviously that eye is abnormal. A visit to herp vet might throw some light on issue and maybe there is a procedure to fix it: Arav or Herp Vet Connection.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
