So some have you may have helped me with threads concerning thesefrogs before. In brief, I had 2 amazon milk frogs as babies, one grew much fasterand bigger than the other, then fatty tried to eat the little one, so they wereseparated into two tanks. They’ve been living separately for around 6 monthsnow. They are now almost the same size with only about a 9g difference whichequates to about 2cm so there is definitely no chance of fatty swallowing himnow! They’ve just finished their wormer and have been given the all clear to bemixed by the vet. They are going into a 60x40x80cm tank together, neither ofthem have lived in it before.
My question is how do I introduce them? I’m used to mammalswhere mixing is a gradual procedure. With frogs can they just be put in to geton with it? The tank is moderately planted and has a fair few hiding places soI don’t anticipate their being too many problems, but I wondered if they arevery territorial. I’m not sure on the sex but my guess is one male one female(one croaks one doesn’t!)
Thanks!
I would introduce them to new tank at same time in the morning. That way they will just go to sleep and when they wake up at night, will be interested in feeding and exploring. Hopefully the one that was attacked does not recognize the other are past aggressor. Good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
