It's cold and rainy around here today. I found this tree frog today when I was getting home at noon.
I'm thinking female Hypsiboas faber.. Any ideas?
I live in south Brazil BTW.
I'll take better pictures of it when I get home. I took these quickly just to send them to my wife (she freaks out with frogs).
I'm considering keeping it as a pet so my daughter can help me take care of it. The problem is I've never taken care of a tree frog. Is this a difficult sp to start? Will I have problems feeding it? Since it's WC?
I can't ID the frog, but it sure is a cutie!! The dark throat and strong front legs does indicate it's a male though.

The dark stripe running from the snout to the middle of the head does indicate H.faber.
It's your native frog so you won't be having problems keeping it warm or humid. Just start of with a tall tank/enclosure maybe 4-6 feet high and maybe 3-4 feet wide with a mesh top since it is a big frog and fill it with your native broad-leaved plants and maybe a huge/wide water dish.
A tree frog that big could easily tackle a small mice, large crickets even beetles maybe
