I think the most important thing when buying an animal is to research extensively before you buy. I must have read every care sheet in the world before i got my White's. Obviously, extremely young children are most likely not ready for a pet. I'm 14(a little above the age being discussed. But i was 13 when i got my frogs .) and i would definitely not say that i am a frog expert but i know one or two things. Being informed and prepared are the best ways to have a healthy happy pet, no matter your age. But i might be biased on this one, considering I'm a kid!

That is a perfect example i was talking about! young people who are more responsible and mature then some way older ones i only wish there are more kids/teens/young adults like that. A world be a better place
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

I agree 100%!! When my son (he is 12 almost 13) asked for frogs we talked about it and the responsibility of it for a couple months. He gets an allowance of which he has some spending money to play with. He had saved up enough money to do a small tank and get a couple Darts. Once I felt he understood what he was getting into he spent some of his money to help get the frogs and the tank setup. He makes Fruit Fly cultures with me each week. He is doing absolutely fantastic with them, but I did and still do make sure he is doing all he needs to do to take care of them.

He is now asking if he can create an account on the frog forum so he can read more about frogs and tanks lol. I think I created a monster My 11 yr Old daughter is now talking about getting frogs (she currently has a fish tank she is caring for. She does the water changes weekly, feeds them, and regularly tests the water
