Default Mystery mushroom growing out of nowhere!

So my retf enclosure has a mushroom growing in it. I went to remove it but noticed the springtails rather seemed to like it. Does anybody know what it is and if it's harmful to my frogs or springtails? Thanks a lot.

That's a mushroom. Not harmful at all. It will probably be gone by the morning.

I get random mushrooms all over my Mantella, Vent, Azureus, and Red Eye tanks. They last about 24 hours and then they vanish. I love them and watch them in wonder when I see them forming. They grow so quickly and then are gone without a trace just as fast.

The mushrooms you see are actually the short lived reproductive body part of a fungus whose body, called mycelium (mass of threadlike hyphae that make up the fungus) lives underground. As long as conditions are OK, the fungus will live in the vivarium while helping other detritivores to consume organic matter, just as they do out in nature . I think their presence in any vivarium should be a source of joy for it's owner, photographed, and shared like you did, thanks !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
