    Default Humidifier not always working

I have a (Walgreens) cool mist humidifier that I've modified for my Pyxie's use, you know with an airline tube and hooked up to a humidistat. I've had it since last winter but it's starting to cease working properly. It's been, let's say "jamming." I keep getting that orange light on top of it. If it ceases working altogether I'm thinking of saran wrapping my Pyxie's cage tops (not all of it mind) to help keep some humidity in. She lives in an exo terra, so it's pretty ventilated by itself and hard to keep the humidity above 68-70% without artificial help. I prefer to keep it around 78 to 80+ percent.

What can I do save my humidifier?

Sounds like a case of needing to call the manufacturer of the humidifier. I wouldn't tell them you use if for a frog tank. Just tell them you use it in your household and then the issue you are having. Hopefully they can help.

Are you putting hard water in it? I have to take mine apart and soak the parts in vinegar every 3-4 months to break down some of the deposits. The junk would build up and then it would just stop working. This last winter, I bought distilled water for it and it didn't get nearly as bad. I don't use it for frogs though, just in the bedroom.

I'll have to try that. I have a zoo med brand that doesn't make fog any more. Well it makes it but it doesn't pump it up the tube anymore.
