Default Ants on ants on ants!

    Hey all!

So, I have my FBT's in a Tupperware bin as their temporary home while I finish my enclosure. Today, I went to check on then--and by check on them I mean state at how darn cute they are--and I was surprised by evil enemies invading their land! Ants on ants on ants! I suspect that they were trying to claim their water, so my initial reaction was "Hey, let me drown the ants by filling the whole tub with water!" Genius idea? Nope. Naturally, the ants want to find the nearest land to them, and since the water level was above the rocks, the nearest "land" to them just happened to be. . . My toads! NOOOO!!! So, after numerous failed attempts at drowning the enemies, I came to the only rational conclusion--remove and re home the victimized toads! If only I had thought of that before...lol. During the ant annihilation process, aka whipping them clean from the tub, I too became covered in ants. Yay!

Moral of the story: Use your brain before you act!

By the way, anyone else think crickets are totally adorable when they try to swim?

Also, do not spray for ants if keeping frogs . Follow their trail and place ant traps near their entrance to house. The workers will take bait back to colony and wipe it out . Cricket's cute... never !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I gotta agree with Carlos here. Crickets? Cute? No no no. Those 2 words should never be used together. Lol

Yeah crickets aren't cute, but I often do wonder if their suicidal dives into water aren't premeditated.
