Panama City Trip

Four somewhat rainy days in St. Andrews state park yielded great rewards.

it was tree frogs galore and though I saw at least 2 dozen, here is a stunning picture of one green tree frog that was feeling surprisingly friendly.

Also, we have a picture of one of the many pinewoods tree frogs that were calling up a storm in the marshes surrounding the park.





Next in line are the two stunningly beautiful squirrel frogs that I found.





I also found quite a few toads in the dunes surrounding the marshes, I believe this one to be a southern toad, but I may be mistaken.






One morning of herping found these two turtles, a musk and a box, in good health.

An anole that I roused from sleep in order to get a good picture, this was a relatively large individual.





My only picture of the dozen or so leopard frogs that I saw.

One of the Crown Jewels of the trip was found at a rest stop, a neonate five lined skink still in the process of hatching. Quite a beautiful sight.





I snapped a pic of this exquisite young gator from about two feet away, one of four gators seen on the trip.

The oak toad pic as promised, this little guy was hopping the dunes when I discovered him at the exact time that I stepped on a cactus. OUCH!
