Found an amphibian in the pool filter at work. (work at a vet in dog daycare and was swimming dogs at the time). Thought it would be interesting to keep it as a pet and set up a habitat for it with my kids to enjoy and learn about it. Told it was a bullfrog, but it doesn't look anything like one of those to me! I thought it to be some manner of toad. It's about the size of my palm. Upon research on google, I think it is a Woodhouse toad. Could you let me know if this is correct? And if it can be properly cared for indoors as a pet, how do my kids and I set up a habitat for it? Thank you. For now, we have it in a plastic container with some rocks on one half of the bottom for it to relax on and a couple inches of water on the other half to wade in. This is only temporary while we set up something much more suitable.

We have a good care sheet on FF for toads;
I found the care sheet very helpful, and will be collecting supplies today to make her at home. I am wondering if feeding her earwigs is ok? We have quite a few of them in and around the house. Would prefer to not have to feed crickets as their smell and noise disturb us so, but will if necessary..
