I have an idea for a thread to help out with all of the vivarium build questions. To do this, I'm going to need everyone's assistance.

I would like to start a detailed list of all of the materials successfully used in their vivariums.
I'm looking for very detailed products and materials used, everything from brand names, to the types of leaves scavenged from the local hiking trail. I would also like to include materials never to be used, along with your homemade recipes, such as soil mixes, fertilizers, and insect cultures and so on.

After I receive the info, I'll make the list broken down into categories. This way its all in one place and easy to find, especially if you're at the store and looking at materials trying to figure out what's safe or not.

Feedback for this idea is greatly appreciated. One last thing, please message me with all of the materials and their information, this will be easier for me to keep track of.

I think the reason there hasn't been a large response to this thread is because this list is so nearly impossible to compile. Products vary from country to country and even within different countries, products vary between regions. This list would be truly massive!!! That's why when I wrote the construction materials thread, I only went by general items. I do commend you for the enthusiasm though if you do get a list together, post it up.
