Burrowing, or Nesting? Hiding?

I have a small Fantasy Frog, and it seems pretty happy! It's in a quiet room, in a make shift Viv. It has all it's needs met! Yet I have not seen it bury itself in a looooong time! It does however, create a spot for itself beneath, and around a piece of cork that I strategically placed under some frog moss. I kinda hoped he'd use it for that purpose!

My concern is, that if he's not burrowing is that a problem? He seems to maintain the area, flattening the substrate in such a fashion to crate a "Lair"/"Hide"!
I'm assuming he's OK, but I figured I'd get the skinny on this behavior from someone with more XP! Any thoughts?

It may just be a glare from the glass...but is that a puddle of water in the substrate?

Looks like a puddle to me, he might be soaking in the puddle,

If frog feels safe under the cork it won't burrow and that is normal and OK. However, if your substrate is waterlogged, that is a problem you have to correct now. The shredded coco should be mixed with dechlorinated water so it's slightly damp and clumps in fist without dripping water out. Good luck !

It's not a puddle, and the substrate is not waterlogged! I guess he just has a sufficient hide, and feels secure. Thanks for the reassurance!

I heard of a breeder in cyprus that if they feel safe in there habitats they don't burrow ??

I only have 4, but I've observed a range of burying behaviors in those 4 frogs. My growing female ornate never buries herself and follows/watches me when I walk into the room. But, she's also quite aggressive and will take food at any time of the day. My adult male cranwelli stays buried or hiding in his log most of the time, but has been coming out in the afternoon/evening lately now that it's warmer and he's hungry. My small fantasy half-buries itself no matter what. My new cornuta seems to have no interest in digging in the dirt at all. He/she is always in the pool or sitting bulldog style right next to it. When I had the moss (came with it) in it's enclosure, it sometimes wiggled into the moss. I'm guessing that the cornuta would love to hide in leaves if I put some in there, but it seems to see the dirt as floor.
