He is fattening up If you put more green stuff in your viv, he might turn back to green too! 2 of my greys go back and forth between green and grey, one of them stays green all the time, and another I've never seen turn anything but grey-white. It's fun

Yes! its great. Hmm i wonder if it has anything to do with humidity? mantids will change color as well and its not always based on their surroundings, for some its based on humidity levels.

i spray my guys and the viv a few times a day, so i don't think it's a humidity thing.. it's all individual.

    Hi...
I've been a member for awhile now, but this is my first post. I was enchanted by the name "Gandalf the Gray".
I've got four Grey Tree Frogs. All but one changes colors... he's always medium to dark brown with black outlines... he's the smallest, and used to be named Lazy (until he proved he wasn't lazy at all) now he's Brownie. The larger two are bright solid green right now, Leaf and Lucky, but can be anything from dark brown with black, to pale beige grey. Little Guy is usually pale grey, but at times is grey and green, often brown and green and tonight is sitting next to Brownie and could be his twin (dark brown with black outlines) except Little Guy is fatter. They are getting close to a year and a half old. I've never heard them calling, but I think the smaller two are males. I just recently began keeping their tank at a more constant humidity rather than letting it fluctuate somewhat thoughout the day and night. I do believe that the greens are brighter and more solid and more frequent since I made the change. It amazes me that when they are solid green, their skin is almost smooth and when brown they are covered with bumps. I adore these little guys and can't figure out how I ever got along without them. They are amazing creatures.

PS. Many years ago, I had an anole I called Smeagol.
