Hi all,
My ADF seems to be sick. I have had her (I'm pretty sure it's a female) for about 6 months in a 10 gallon tank with another ADF, grown Molly, and 4 Molly fry. Both ADFs have been acting weird the last 3 days. One has been in hiding in a cave and has not been coming out to eat very much. The other one (which I am writing about) has been floating toward the top of the surface and also refusing to eat (even when I put the bloodworms right up to her mouth). I also think her ventral (stomach) side seems to be more blue in coloring that usual. She hardly even moves when I touch her and will only scurry away if I touch her for a while.
I had 2 of the 4 Molly fry die unexpectedly a few days ago (I used to have 6, now I'm down to 4), so I did a 50% water change. Because of that, I think there's something really wrong. Before doing the change, nitrite levels were a bit high, but nothing else seemed off. I attached 4 pictures (click on them for a bigger photo), hopefully they can help. Any help or ideas?

I've got good news! Frogger (that's her name) seems to be doing much better! I think she shed her skin (as there were bits hanging off a couple of days ago and today I saw and entire skin shed floating in the water). I guess the 50% water change did the trick! I'm still not totally sure what happened, since nothing seemed too abnormal... Any thoughts?

Glad your frog is doing better! Water quality is so very important to those keeping aquatic frogs. It would be wise to invest in a water test kit from your local tropical fish dealer. Make sure you treat the water with a good quality conditioner. I been keeping aquatic frogs for decades and prefer Stress Coat.
