So my friend brought me 10 tadpoles which he saved from another pool that was going to be cleaned and they were in pretty bad shape. I'm assuming they're Pseudacris Regilla tadpoles since that's mostly all we have up here, but I could be wrong.
Moving on, I have 2 that are completely translucent other than their insides of course. I was wondering if they are sick, malnourished, etc and what I can do to help these poor babies
And this one was the worst, poor baby only has half a tail and I'm wondering if that lump is an air bubble? He seems very lethargic, and kind of floats to the top but then will swim back down, chomp on some food then float again. I'm wondering if I should put him down, or see if he bounces back (if he can even make it)
Here's one of the others (sorry for the terrible quality)
Thank you for all of the help!

Hi Jessalyn! Sorry for the two tadpoles. Well, if the other ones are doing OK and all are in same container, it could be birth issues and not much you can do. In mother natures hand, the unfit would just not survive . But if it's the start of a pathogen, those two could pass to others.
Although not as delicate as fish fry, have no first hand experience medicating tadpoles. If you want to try something at the risk of not knowing it's effects, you could isolate the two troubled ones and medicate with Melafix.
Use the instructions on the label for mixing 1 gallon (keep unused solution in the dark) and do full water changes daily for one week. Please let us know results if you try it. Other than that, euthanasia is an option too .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Yeah I'm going to give them at least a few days to hopefully perk up. They were all pretty lethargic when I got them, it's been abnormally hot here recently so I'm sure that hasn't helped them either. I probably will isolate Lumpy, but it looks like he's just had some bad luck Thank you for your tips! I might use Melafix as a last resort for them but other than Lumpy they all seem to be getting stronger. Fingers crossed!

Good luck, Jessalyn! I hope they perk up. Thanks for caring about these little guys
2.0.3 Hyla versicolor "Eastern Gray Tree Frogs"
2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"
0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"
Thanks for the replies guys! I'm really hoping they all pull through!
Lumpy made it through the night, I put him in a small container so he doesn't have to use too much energy to move around if he needs to, and I can keep a better eye on him. It looks like he was nipped on the tail by something, there's still some red flecks around his tail.
I'm hoping he's just healing, but he mostly just lays on his side 😞
Seems like the translucent ones are doing just fine, no issues there.
I'll post updates.
Here's some better pictures:
Another update, lumpy unfortunately passed away a day after I posted this the others however are doing great! One of them scared me recently because it swallowed air and was floating upside down and was struggling to turn itself back around but is doing much better now.
One of them has popped his arms and started absorbing his tail, and looks to be about half way done. He is significantly smaller than my girls were at this point, but insanely strong for his size!
Here's the comparison: One of the girls
The new (hopefully) boy
Again, thanks for reading!
