Lynn has you started on the right track. Jenny or P. Depressa will work just fine. Moss will work as well and is pretty much a no-brainer to grow if you start with a good moss or moss mix.

Other smaller plants you can add would be ficus pumila var. quercifolia, or oak leaf fig. It looks like miniature ivy. If you are feeling adventurous, rhaphidophora pachyphyllum is a tiny, climbing, shingling plant. It does prefer humidity though.

Then there are your epiphytic ferns, like pyrrosia nummularifolia that will climb.

As far as a trailer for the pot? Bolivian Jew is a smaller plant that trails nice. Sorry, I forget the Latin name on that one. Pilea Glauca is another smaller trailer that would work.
