To properly house a tree frog you should look at a tank no less than 24 inches tall. No matter what tank size you use you will eat up 4 - 5 inches of height with a false bottom/drainage layer + soil. Tree frogs want to be up away from the ground. 24" is not all that hight, but it is way better than 14 or 18. if you want to keep 5 tree frogs you will want to use a 24x18x24 tank on the low end. Probably a 36x18x24 or a 36x18x36.

The type of frog really depends on how much you are willing to learn about them. You really should research the frogs you like and then find one that you feel you can care for. Red Eye Tree Frogs are great frogs, but you have to read up on them so you can design a home they will enjoy that meets all of their basic necessities.

Here is a care article on the Reds.

Frog Forum - Red-Eyed Leaf Frog/Red Eyed Tree Frog Care - Agalychnis callidryas

One thing to keep in mind about tree frogs. Most of them (if not all) are nocturnal. Meaning you will get to see them sleep during that day and can peak at them doing their thing at night. We have 5 Reds and they are awesome, but just to make sure you know what you are getting into.
