Forgot to mention that toads need some sort of substrate. EcoEarth is highly recommended as it is safe, easy to clean (don't even have to clean it often, just pick up the toad's poop and it'll be fine) and also easy for the toad to burry himself into. I wouldn't just use the dirt you find in your garden or yard as the soil was most likely tampered with and is covered in pesticides and other chemicals that are dangerous. Remember that toads breathe through their skin and absorb moisture through it as well so any chemicals that are in his substrate will get into his system and could either kill him or ill him. That's also why it's important that the toad's water is always clean; they sometimes like to poop and pee in it and you don't want your toad absorbing any of that.
