Okay guys. So in the beginning of June I was fortunate enough to be allowed to pick up as many baby Duttaphrynus melanostictus' (Asian toad), from a state-owned green house facility, that I cared for, for which I am very grateful.
I really wanted more of this breed, but since my experience wig Pig from Germany, who died this sunday from Mycobacteriosis, I didn't want to buy any more via that route. So I gathered 6 little guys of which I plan to keep two males and sell of the rest when they've matured and can be positively sexed - let's see if I can part with them, when time comesIf anyone feels like coming to DK with two male Japonicus' traded for two well-loved, well-fed male Duttaphrynus', feel free to PM me! lol
But enough ramble: Here's some photos for you guys to enjoy
Godjira (Japanese for "Godzilla"), male

Very fun guy - scared the hell out of the first night, because he changed skin and sat in the terrarium very straight, all white, with completely black eyes and just stared straight out into the room, looking like the Alien from Alien 4 lol
Meru (actually means "e-mail" en Japanese, but I love the pronounciation (https://translate.google.com/#da/ja/e-mail). Very lively little guy, very good feeder and cheaky. Sex unknown.

Tiny Tim A timid little guy, the smallest of the bunch. Carries three scars from what seems to be a chemical burn and is becoming more and more adventerous and tame for each day. Sex unknown.

Trex Named Trex, because I think he looks like a little T-rex. Very funny guy - can't really figure out his personality yet, but there's something special about him. Sex unknown, but I think male. Will definitely be keeping this little guy.

Prince Valiant Shared in ownership by my best friend, for fun, and his name is the result of her being allowed to name him LOL She says he's got a pretty-boy face in a nancy-kind of way and to be honest, he was the scaredest guy in the bunch of the smallest, although he's better now. But for sure a scaredy-catPresumably male.

Mumi Is the second largest of the bunch and lives together with Godjira. Very calm and easy going little guy, seems to be very pondering for a toad.Presumably male, but may be female.

So there you goIt's so great to have a whole forum as toad-crazy as me - otherwise I would fore sure have no place to off load my mania ;D And if anyone makes it to DK with a Japonicus male, I'm not kidding - you can have two guys for free

I love the black nail polish. How'd you find such a small brush ;o)
Rest in peace Rosie 5-31-12
Rest in peace Rufus 2-7-14
Rest in peace Morph 8-14-15
Patience and perfection, Gail. Particularly patience![]()
Very nice toads and good luck finding a Japonicus for trade. Careful when doing a trade by mail; recently we had a couple forum members burned by sending their trade and not receiving anything back.
If you set-up a trade in forum, recommend do so with known established members or request you receive the trade first and then ship yours. Too bad I'm very far away; would love to keep a couple of those beauties! Also, deleted your double post.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Thank you
Allright. Thanks for the tip. I had a danish guy travelling to Germany once and then to Holland, to get two back for me, but either he deceived me or the two deals really didn't go off (first they died on their way to DK because his thermometer broke and next time the seller didn't sell because of desease in the stock - didn't pay for anything, though). I'd also be a bit anxious about shipping them that far. But I really love Japonicus' and have been trying to get two males for over a year.
YeahOkay.
Thanx!I still see the double-thread in the forum section - can you help me with that?
Okay, could be. Thanks for the help![]()
