I found this little guy on my driveway with a wound on his leg and bleeding out. I presume he got this injury from being run over by a car. Is there anything I can do to help him?

As of right now, I have coated the inside of a cardboard shoe-box with paper towels, poked holes, and covered him with a paper towel to help keep him calm.
Also, I coated the wound with Neosporin using a Q-tip to help prevent infection as suggested here: http://www.frogforum.net/toads/28772...lawnmower.html
He seems to be well hydrated and fed as of right now. When I first saw him he tried to jump forwards but landed on his back, and after I check him after putting him in the box he was again on his back, with his back injured leg folded completely behind him. His leg seems to not have any feeling or ability to move.
god bless you
Keep him in a 10 gallon tank or a good sized plastic container. Give him some sort of hide for shelter (like half a plan pot or you can just go to the pet store and look for one there) and give him a dish deep enough and big enough that he can sit in it and have a soak. Feed him crickets, earth worms, beetles, things like that. He will be fine. My toad's leg was completely flat and I just set up his tank and it healed on his own. He lost his foot but he is doing well. Just make sure he's safe, well fed and always has clean water and the toad will do most of the work. Mine did at least so I wouldn't doubt that this little guy will be okay as well. Good luck![]()
Forgot to mention that toads need some sort of substrate. EcoEarth is highly recommended as it is safe, easy to clean (don't even have to clean it often, just pick up the toad's poop and it'll be fine) and also easy for the toad to burry himself into. I wouldn't just use the dirt you find in your garden or yard as the soil was most likely tampered with and is covered in pesticides and other chemicals that are dangerous. Remember that toads breathe through their skin and absorb moisture through it as well so any chemicals that are in his substrate will get into his system and could either kill him or ill him. That's also why it's important that the toad's water is always clean; they sometimes like to poop and pee in it and you don't want your toad absorbing any of that.
