Hello all. I'm a keeper of various snake species, but I am a first time owner of a cute little Pacman frog. I joined up so that I can have a knowledgable resource for learning how to take care of my little guy. His day temp is around 83, night around 79. I mist him everyday. He has a nice hide, and a shallow water bowl. Eating crickets and meal worms with no issues. If I can manage to take great care of him, I'd like to acquire more, as I really enjoy frogs! I look forward to doing a lot of reading here.

congrats on your frog, but it is like with tarantulas or snakes, one is never enough lol

you should ease up on mealworms, they have very high chitin component and as such place your frog at very high risk of impaction, use nightcrawlers instead, they also have the best ca ratio for frogs. And of course use ca/d every second day and multivitamin powder.

Great advice by our friend Lija! I've seen some bad endings with feeding mealworms also. The frogs do not actually digest the mealworm segments, so they pass through and cause intestinal constipation and sometimes impaction/obstructions. I avoid them. It's a bit like eating too many popcorn cornels for humans. Earthworms and night crawlers are a wonderful alternative. They're easy to digest and nutritious. Be sure they do not have any additives, dyes, or scents added to them.

Don't forget your calcium with vita D3 - EOD (every other day) dustings and your weekly amphibian multivitamin dusting for proper health. Be sure to dechlorinate his water .
