False Bottom, will this work?
I wasn't able to find any eggcrate at Menards this weekend but I did find this in my garage. It needs cleaned and I need to trim a bit off of it, but the width almost 25" which will fit in my tank perfect. I just need to take a bit off the front to make it fit.

It serves the same purpose, so it would work. The reason for using eggcrate is weight. It is very light.

Mynards does have the egg crate. Ask an associate where the drop ceiling tiles are located (usually in the back of the store b the paint department). The egg crate is there just waiting for you to purchase it

I'll have to go back and check. In Home Depot they have it right where the lighting products are, I didn't realize they hide it in Menards lol..
Is there a benefit of it being lighter?

The Home Depot by me has them back by the drop ceiling stuff too. It makes sense to be back there with it, but some consistency would be nice lol. I think they are $12 - $13 at Mynards.

That's funny, when I asked for it at menards once, they looked at me like I had two heads and told me they didn't sell it.
