Has anyone ever used Purslane, also known as verdolaga, pigweed, little hogweed, or pursley, and moss rose.. in a vivarium set up? I've removed literally a ton of it from my garden this year, apparently it's even edible. It's definitely a weed as in it spreads quickly and is a ground cover plant. I was curious if I could use it in my vivarium set up?

I did. Mine needed full lighting and a quick drying substrate like topsoil and osmunda fiber for quick drainage or a coarse sand+rock mix or even perlite/vermiculite for a quick dry. They're kinda hard to eliminate once they get established and their roots can really cling lol.
I can attest to how invasive they are, I am battling this stuff in my garden this year.
Seems to grow in the brighter, dryer spots of my garden so I'm doubtful that it would work well in a viv.

Their seeds, spores, rhizomes or whatever it is using to reproduce is very nasty and caked my substrate dry like there's no tomorrow. They're also salt tolerant as i've tried growing them for my fiddler crabs and red thai crabs lol
