Recently I moved onto the third floor of a (Very nice, well, my room) apartment building. so, I was forced to constrict my American Toads space to a small exo terra 12x12x18, but that doesn't stop me from making it look nice for me and the toad. So, I started working on sketches for her new redesign. I used to be a comic book artist, however, it doesn't show in this drawing I did not paint.Anyway, I will keep you updated on the build, it may take a while, since I'm working toward becoming a herpetologist right now, I'm trying to land a job at a nature preserve, so it may take a while.
Somewhere next to the clock will be a hygrometer and thermometer

Gotcha. Built in alarm clock for the toad? Lol. I hope it is a sealed unit. Otherwise the humidity will corrode any metal inside of it.

Yeah, its sealed, most of it is plastic, but there may be some metal. It should be okay though

But why the clock? I'm just curious.
I also just recent acquired a American toad.![]()
Neat little guy.
Yeah, I know a clock is a weird idea, but I just found the little clock and decided, since I look in my toad cage a lot, why not mount the clock?

What is the toads snout to vent length?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!

Day one of build: Spent the day making my own substrate based off of Illinois soil, of course this is where I caught my toad. For the bottom layer is a couple inches of all natural clay I dug up from where I caught Lola. Ontop of that was natural forest soil and potting soil to fill it up. A crunched up layer of leaves was then added. Still haven't placed in tank, just a walkthrough of whats goin to happen.
