Hello , I'm new to this frog keeping scene and I'm little worried about one of my frogs.
recently I was given 2 beautiful big eyed tree frogs ( sometimes called Armani or peacock tree frogs ) for my birthday 4 days ago, as I am fan of the Big Bang theory I named them Leonard and penny.
I feed them crickets every other day , but Leonard just is not interested in the crickets , penny gobbles up the crickets , but Leonard just hops around his vivarium ignoring the crickets, which is actually what Leonard does every night.
is this normal behaviour for a tree frogs?
Has your frog started to eat yet? It may take some time for him to get used to his new home and be comfortable enough to eat. Try taking him out and feeding him in a separate container, he may be used to a different feeding method than what your giving him and also he may not be getting to the crickets fast enough before Penny eats them, this is why I feed mine in a separate container, so I can make sure they all get to eat their fair share. He will eat when he is ready so long as there is food for them to eat. My oldest Grey did not eat for nearly 2 weeks when I brought him home, but he did eat eventually. Hope this helps and good luck with your new babies! Best Wishes; MsBlueRose![]()
