    Default Here we go !

A couple of members wanted some information regarding this enclosure:
    http://www.frogforum.net/members/fly...6-28-2014.html

    Exo terra 36W X 24H x 18 - drilled for drainage - layered bottom ( not false bottom )
substrate / from the bottom up
    hydro ( but I prefer gravel )
1" polyester quilt batting ( fabric store) IMO it drains better that substrate fabric
    screen for home depot
ABG - I use Josh's Frogs mix ( better recently -- they are shredding the spag more )
ABG, Atlanta Botanical Gardens Mix | Reptile Substrate | Josh's Frogs

13 watt LED ( there are 2 over this enclosure ) spend some $$ on good plant bulbs !!!!!
Light you reptile bulbs in the warmer months
    Jungle Dawn® 7" 13W LED
Cheap - Philips regular base plant bulbs during the colder moth ( tank is in the basement)

Black Jungle moss: The best ! I will be driving all the way to White Plains Reptile expo this week end to get more
    Live Tropical Moss

The green and white plant is :
    Calathea vitatta
Easy to separate as it grows. Bloom a pretty white/ fragrant flower.

The background and the plant pots ( in all my enclosures are from Reptile Outpost)
Medium Planter Ledge - Earth | Reptile Outpost
I remove the magnets and silicone them ( aquarium sealant ) to the glass.
These are terrific; can be drilled to mount a plant on the outside, holes can be poked, anywhere for drainage.
    Lots of possibilities!

I do not know if he is still doing the mold for the backgrounds. You could call ! Nice people. Easily cut with a sheet rock knife. I did this for most of the enclosures to fit the planters in. Any spaces are simply filled with spag or cocoa fiber background material.

There is an older photo of an orchid. I gave it to Bill ( deranged chipmunk ). I do not know the species name. Sorry.
    Bill will know

    Oh, the moss vine :
    A fun project.

Weird. When I go to the link, it sends me to an old lighting thread. At least via tapatalk. I'll have to try it from a browser later.

I'll have to check the pics, but you gave me 2 different species orchids. One was a maxillaria sp. The other hasn't grown enough yet to identify.

Hmm I've been trying to figure out how to get a vine to grow across the upper branches in my grey viv more quickly, those planter ledges may be the perfect idea.

Thank you for answering all my annoying questions! I love the vine idea, great fun project, I'm finding this hobby very relaxing and stress releaving. I already built my background, but I like yours better. Good to know that I have the right LED bulb.

if you have holes in the bottom of the tank, how do you keep the humidity up? I live close to Vegas and it is so dry here, I'm learning to keep the bottom wet and spray to keep the humidity up.

I was wondering what the magnetic shelves worked like, your idea of loosing the magnet and siliconing is much better. I was looking for a better planter for the wall.

Thanks for for the plant help. I'm still learning. I did notice you removed some thing from the first build. It looks like you had some Maiden Hair Vine in the beginning, any reason you got rid of it? I put some in, but I'm iffy on it. I'm definitely going to get the moss.

    Thank you.
