White's tree frog burrowing?

I've had my little guy for about a month, and usually he spends the days up in the corner of his tank, but the last two days I couldn't find him until I looked under the substrate (sphagnum moss with a little planting soil on the bottom) and saw that he was dug down all the way to the bottom. Is this normal? Is it a response to being too dry or maybe too hot? He has access to a water dish.

Temp is around 80 during the day (but maybe a bit higher lately) humidity 60-90%, measured with those cheap analog stick-ons.

I would get something more accurate for measuring temps and humidity. I was very surprised by the different readings when I had an analogue and digital running at the same time.

Hello and welcome to FF ! Although White's do burrow at times; it can be a sign of a problem or stress. Please read this article and review you are providing for all it's needs: Frog Forum - White's Tree Frog Care - Litoria caerulea. Whites do require good ventilation and your humidity sounds a bit high for a well ventilated enclosure. Don't think high heat is the issue; they require a 85F basking spot with 80F overall.
