i just wanted to share a great food source for my toads... Japanese Beetles!! the toads love em. i usually catch them during the morning and afternoon. we have an abundance of those beetles (thousands) eating our fruit trees and bushes. if ur wondering how to catch them, what i do is get a small container and fill it up with about a 4th of a cup of plain water (de-chlorinated, etc.) depending on the size of the container. usually if you just hit the leaves the beetles are on the will fall into your container of water!! once they get wet, they can't fly for awhile, so your frogs/toads can eat them leisurely.Anyway, wanted to share this for any of you who have the beetles but didn't know amphibians could eat them. happy frogging!
