They really aren't bad. I'm just going to let them continue to heal on their own unless something changes. I initially thought the nose rub was worse on the little one, but it's not bad at all. When I first took them out of the shipping containers, the bigger one was in night time colors, so I didn't notice the dark nose rub until he went to sleep and changed to a lighter color. That one is a little worse. Sorry the picture isn't clearer on that one, looked clear on my phone until I open it on the computer!

Both of them are eating, pooping and appear to be at a healthy weight right now, so that is a relief. I'm looking forward to getting them out of quarantine and it's only been a week!

The blue edges are signs of healing already. Just keep a close eye on them. They're so sweet .

Oh good! I thought they looked better but I've never had a frog with a skin injury before. Thanks!

Usually turns gray, May or may not slough off. Nice blue skin underneath. Callie's scar are just now turning more green. They were blue for a couple years. Pretty though. I think they're scars are distinguishing. It's a pretty blue.

The nose rubs are small so I think you'll barely notice once they fill in.

There is a lot of improvement with the little guys nose rub just overnight again. The scars will not bother me if they end up with any. I was more nervous about potential infection than anything.

Eta...I'm surprised by how early they wake up. There are nights I go in my bedroom and they are awake at 830pm, my bedroom is mostly dark by then but not pitch black. They also do not seem to mind the glow of my phone, they are hopping around eating. 4 crickets and 2 dubias are gone already and I just fed them about a half hour ago. A little later than usual tonight.

LoL Awesome! So happy they are doing good!

Our 5 wake up like clock work around 7:00PM and devour the crickets in the bowl. I just checked on them and 4 of the 5 are soaking their butts in the water bowl and the 5th has climbed onto a plant and made it lean over the water bowl and is looking down on them all lol.

Funny!! I have pothos leaves in the water dish right now. Last night, the little guy was holding the stem of the pothos leaf while the big guy sat on the leaf. It looked like they were going for a gongola ride. Interesting to have a more social frog. My Greys tend to claim their own spaces and stay as far from each other as possible.

LoL that is awesome! I have seen mine sleeping side by side on the same leaf or seeing 2 or 3 of them lined up snout to vent all the way down a leaf. They do really seem to like the company and enjoy having more of their kind to hang out with.

My other frogs seem to get along, but they don't pal around like the reds do.

Have you come up with names for them yet?

I was thinking about Yoshi and Rica...then I realized those are incredibly common names for red eyes LOL. I was going to wait until I knew make or female, but calling them big guy and little one is getting old fast! I may wait a couple more weeks when I finally let the kids know I have them and get their input.

Yeah that is where we ended up with ours. We named the first 2. Then when we added the other 3 we just call them "The Reds" now. We got tired of not knowing which was male or female so we are waiting till we can tell lol.

    Looking good Amy!!

I stopped naming frogs. It seems like as soon as I name them, something bad happens. I broke that rule with naming my imitators (well, my daughter named them) and they escaped. I was jinxed from that moment. I think it's bad hoo doo naming them lol

All my frogs have had names from the start until these guys, some of my frogs have had evolving names (Willow was originally Oscar because I thought she was a boy, King Atlas was originally cricket - because he was tiny and black when we got him, then his pattern came in so he became Atlas, then he started calling so he became King Atlas) So I'm not afraid, was thinking about gender-neutral names but I'd rather wait to find out male/female.

I do have a question, last night I put 10 two-three week old crickets in and they were all gone this morning. The qt tank is completely cricket - escape proof and they're bowl fed. Is that too many crickets for 2 small RETFS to be eating on a daily basis? I was originally doing 6 and when they started eating all 6 I bumped it to 10 last night and all of those are gone too. The crickets are just the right size for the little one, so they may be a bit small for the big one since there is about a half inch difference between the two.

My only curse so far has been when my daughter named one of our toads Bob Marley, he died young. For the record, the other 3 toads had reindeer names, Vixen, Rudolph, and Clarice. They were fine.
