Background plants
I have reptile carpet going on the back of my grey tree frog viv with a log siliconed onto it. I'm wondering if there is a plant that I could get to attach and grow up onto it? Thanks.

Are you looking for something like moss or a fern... Or something that will be ably to support the reds (big leaves and such)...

It will be in my grey tree frog viv, I mostly just want something that will climb and eventually cover the background. Something that will secure itself if there is such a thing.

Background plants
Ficus pumilia var. quercifolia. It's tough, versatile and will cover a background well. It looks like very small ivy. I would suggest planting 2, one on each side of the Viv.

I ordered 3 "creeping fig" and 1 "creeping Jenny" from josh's frogs. I planted two creeping fig in the grey tree frog viv. I planted the third in the retf's future home. I also planted the creeping Jenny in the retf viv alongside the water feature. I will see how it all works out. Ohh the joys of buying plants online...you may have created a monster, Bill.

That one is really neat also. I have to wait until my next paycheck to buy more plants...there are several that I have my eye on right now. I'd really like an aquatic for the grey tree frog tank also, so I'm looking at those. I've spent WAY too much money on plants, viv supplies, and frogs in the last 10 days though. So maybe next week...

I haven't decided yet, was just reading through different plants and trying to figure out what will work best. The water area holds about 1 1/2-2 gallons of water, so nothing too big. I do not heat it, so whatever I put in has to survive without additional heat.

How deep is the water? Are you looking for native? Tropical? Something that will grow out of the water? Something that floats?

Something that either floats or will grow out of the water but stay shorter. The pond area is in the foreground of the tank, so I do not want anything that's going to grow really tall and block the rest of it. The water is 4 inches deep but I also have pond stones, leaves, and sticks in there. As for native or tropical...not sure, whatever looks nice.

I would go with something like dwarf Sagittaria (Sagittaria subulata) micro sword. They are both grassy looking plants that will stay small and grow out of the water a bit. Anything else that grows marginally may grow a bit too big. Although, some anubias species may work as well.
