Default How Reputable Is Black Jungle Terrarium Supply?

Does anyone have any experience with Black Jungle Terrarium Supply and/or buying from their website, www. blackjungleterrariumsupply .com ?

Right now they have some dart frogs on sale that are practically sold out across the board right now, but before I buy them I want to know if they'd be healthy and well taken care of and such.

    Thanks!!!

My experience buying from them was not great. The reviews I have seen around the net recently have been more and more negative. Is there something in particular you are looking for? I might be able to point you to a few sites I have had personal experience with.

    Hi,

I have purchased one of my several frogs from BJs. (at the White Plains, NY expo) . Most of my plants come from them. The company is owned and operated by 2 lovely , caring individuals. IMO they care very much about their business.

    In general / shipping frogs:
If possible , try to choose a frog ' in person'. Can you get to a show? When doing so, you are able to see the effort the vendor has put into displaying and caring for their 'charges'. It is always best to avoid shipping if possible. If ( which is seldom ) I have a frog shipped the only way I do this.... is to have the frog sent to my fedex hub ( overnight) and MEET it there when they open the following morning. My personal rule is : if a breeder is unable to this, then I don't buy it from them. You want to do everything possible to lessen the odds of a 'delivery' issue. The less time the frog spends in that deli cup 'banging around' during delivery .......... the better !

If a show purchased is planned, be sure to have a suitable 'travel container' set-up and with you for the species you are planning to purchase. Remember: the frogs at a show had to travel too ! They are stressed ! Focus on keeping the frog hydrated and as quiet as possible on its journey home with you. If the vendor is NOT the breeder, they should willingly divulge all information necessary for the frog's successful transition to your care; including information as to who or where the frogs came from originally. This should never be a secrete !

    Lynn,

I may have to give them another chance in the future with you recommendation for their business. I am willing to admit that maybe I had bad luck the couple times i've purchased from them. Thank you for the recommendation!

I order most of my plants from black jungle. I've only had an issue once or twice, but Richard made it right. When I got to meet the folks from jungle at the white plains show, I was very impressed with not only their knowledge of their products, but you could see the love for what they do in everyone working the booth. I definitely would recommend Richard and his crew without hesitation.

Paul, give them another shot. I did

Thanks for the replies!!! I'm looking to get some terribilis dart frogs from them. Like I said, they're on sale for a very good price and every other site has been sold out or looking for too much money for them. Im about to drain my wallet on vivarium plants and supplies, so I kind of need a bargain
