Thinking of making this into a vivarium for RETF

I know it will need some modifications, but I saw this glass case at ikea for 65$ and it's really tall. http://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/10119206/

What do you guys think. If it'll work I'll get it and document the build. I need to figure out good ventilation for one, and two lighting. Will indirect light from a window be sufficient?

You could order it unassembled and replace the top with a screen top. You would have to seal the bottom board really well, particle board turns to mush really quickly with moisture, I'd actually put one of the glass shelves across the bottom and seal it in so moisture has no opportunity to reach the particle board. I wouldn't recommend going without a light, your plants won't survive that kind of environment. The other thing you have to take into consideration is the gap in the door and corners, you'd have to find a way to close that off. It's tempered glass or I'd suggest you split the door in half so you only have to open half at a time.

I wonder if you could put something like that in the corners to prevent a gap and maybe secure fiberglass screening down the door hinge area?

Hard to say if it would work. The seams would need to sealed, top reworked, base reworked. It would probably be easier to just have glass cut in the size you want and assemble your own tank.
