My suggestion is to start with something simple, maybe a false bottom set-up with a water feature, before you try to integrate multiple water/humidity systems in one enclosure. My preferred false bottom material is egg crate plastic due to it's light weight when compared to others like clay balls. No matter which substrate you decide on, do ensure all soil is above the max water level to prevent it from becoming a bog. Good luck !
