Freeze dried/dead food & leopard frogs
Ok, so I just want to know if the pre-packaged dead bugs are ok for leopard frogs to eat? The only live at stores are crickets, and I know I should give them a variaty of bugs. I have a few traps outside atm for other live bugs. Also I know, leopard frogs wont notice non-moving dead bugs, but I know you can easily trick them into thinking its alive, like by just gently moving it.

They probably wouldnt eat the frozen bugs. I would just stick with crickets until you can find something else for them to eat. I hope this helps!

Im just curious if he ate one, would it hurt him? is there anything that could hurt him? I received so freeze dried grass hoppers from someone, and I figured to give it a go if it wont hurt him.

If they are not captive bred or labeled specifically for reptiles and/or amphibians then yes it would. Feeding dead things even freeze dried is not good. Even it has been dead for 5 minutes the decaying process has already begun. Insects from outside can also have chemical that could hurt your frog.

I figured that. My friend heard I was considering using dried food, and gave me some flukers gourmet style grasshoppers for reptiles and birds. I just want to know if its safe.Is it?

It most likely is, although you would be better off feeding live food as it offers a better feeding response and more nutrition.

If you gutload the crickets and dust them with vitamins, they should get plenty of nutrients. Have you tried earth worms? That can be highly nutritious for them.
