After reading another thread, I'm curious what you all do with your frogs while on vacation for more than a few days?
I go on a 1-week vacation once a year (twice last year!) and my greys do perfectly fine while I'm gone. I put a larger bowl of water in the tank with a submersible filter. That's not something I keep in their tank long term, just the week I'm going so I can be assured they have some clean water. I also feed them a bit extra in the week before I leave and make sure I have mealworms in the fridge so I can feed them immediately when I get home. Their light is on a timer switch so no worries there. Honestly, I'm so afraid of someone messing something up caring for them anyway. Like using the wrong water or something.
I am thinking I'm going to get 2 baby red eyes in the next couple of weeks, and I go on vacation next month. I know they aren't going to be able to hang out for a week without someone to care for them. I have never been able to find someone to care for my greys, so I know it's not a possibility. We are driving, so I'm thinking I may just bring them along in my large critter keeper. I will have to bring food along though, my experience with the spring peepers on vacation, I learned there were no pet stores in the area that carried food small enough!
Do you all manage to find sitters?
