How exciting! Glad you found the little sneaky one! That is stressful. It looks really nice and I'm sure they'll be happy once they adjust.

Scared me to death. My wife started crying cause she was the one who inspected that piece of wood for frogs and didn't see him. I felt so bad for her

Looks great Paul! I hope those plants grow well for you!

I had the same issue of them hiding when I tore down my betsileo tank. I have most of the background out before I found the last little guy hanging in a hidden corner I couldn't see!!

Went down to the frog boom to feed the Mantellas and Vents this morning and saw them out enjoying the tank. Was very pleased to see one of them up on the Ghost wood stick already

Took the Picture through the good. Sorry for the bad quality the door was covered in water.

Ok Picture update lol. The plants in this tank are doing amazing. Almost no dieting off (even from the fern which has been a shock. They almost always die off on me and then grow back).

The tank is 4 weeks old today and the plant growth has been astounding. I wanted to share some of the pics with you. I had thought about editing a before and after shot together of each plant, but that seemed like over kill for a 4 week plant update lol.

Here is a whole tank shot.

First - The Begonia has a new leaf on it, but it also looks like the wall is growing a leaf too....

The Hypos have grown like crazy. I am going to trim them back and plant the clipping to try and propagate them, but I am trying to wait for the Vent tank to be ready so I an put them in there.

    Broom Pup

2nd broom has a pup on it as well.

    Crypts have new growth

Unknown vine. I thought it was dead and tossed it in the tank for Springtail food... but it looks to be recovering.

This vine is doing awesome also. Look at all the roots and anchors! It has also grown 1 - 2 inches in length.

base of the above vine, Look at it go!

The Fern is doing great too. Love the Amber color in the new fronds!

Fern growth peaking out of the soil

And last but not least for this update is the Moss. I bought it from NeHerp and I LOVE it!

LoL oh well The Pellonia are awesome vines! It will look great crawling up the wall in the back

Any thoughts on the random leaf growing out of the wall. I jokingly told my wife I was growing a cork branch lol.

It looks like ficus pumila var quercifolia (oak leaf fig). Or maybe a piece of selaginella? Did I send you some of that?

Love the pic of the fern fiddleheads. One of the coolest things in nature, IMHO.

Yeah you sent me some of that. If you look close on the fern pic you can see it on the wall behind the fern near the ghost wood.

I didn't plant anything there. I am assuming it is a type of fern or something was was dormant on the cork and is coming back to life with the moisture and light. Be interesting to watch it and see what it is

I have several plants in the tank I didn't get a picture of. The Mantella hate when I am in the tank lol.

My idea that providing the M. Betsileo with more cover would cause them to come out more often has proven false lol. This suckers hide and are only barely glimpsed through the moss and fern when flies are added. I was adding them to the front of the tank under the Hypos, thinking the cover would allow the frogs to feel safe while eating but they slowly moved further and further back into the tank and wait for the flies to come to them. So I now feed them back under the fern. I have yet to see all 5 of them since they were moved to the new tank. I have seen at most 4 at a time. My wife is concerned, but I told her we just have to assume they are all all right. The only other option would be to pull the tank apart to see and it just isn't worth it for a small concern.

I did end up cutting and propagating the Hypos and they propagate super easy. I am going to carpet the tank in them! lol
